Our Mission: The Sioux City Public Schools Foundation exists to support the Sioux City Community School District with innovative programs that can't be achieved through limited state funding. We help students and educators BELIEVE . . . ACHIEVE . . . SUCCEED while Sioux City Community Schools educate students to believe in their talents and skills, achieve academic excellence and succeed in reaching their potential.
The Foundation has worked closely with the Sioux City Community School District to identify three key areas of interest: STEM or Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math; Equity, or closing the education gap and providing a springboard for our talented and gifted students; and Arts & Culture.
The Foundation’s initial purpose was to provide professional development opportunities to our Sioux City Community School District educators. Each year, teachers attend the Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute, engaging in interdisciplinary approaches to teaching social studies and American history. Additionally, the Foundation provides funding for instructors to attend national math and science conferences, annually, ensuring our students receive the most up-to-date instruction.
